Comment Corner: Joe Perry Attacked By PETA
There’s no doubt that Joe Perry, self-taught lead guitar player for Aerosmith, can blast out the tunes in true rockstar fashion but, up until lately, very few people knew that Perry also does some blasting of the hunting kind. That’s right! Joe also enjoys hunting especially back at his holiday home in New Hampshire.
This information comes to light and the forefront of the stage during an interview for Outdoor Life where Perry was quoted as saying he has enjoyed hunting since he was a kid. And, he only kills what he eats. Tongue in cheek there maybe Joe? Regardless this brings a huge following for those who enjoy deer hunting and listening to Aerosmith. It also sends a new face forward that is very identifiable and that’s where the contraversy begins.
It seems PETA just couldn’t keep their mouths shut on this one and that’s probably because Joe Perry is such a household name. In fact PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange had this to say.
“People who take out their aggressions and frustrations on helpless animals are usually compensating for other shortcomings in their life. We don’t know how Joe measures up, but it’s interesting that he seems to feel so satisfied when he’s handling long phallic-looking weapons.”
It’s typical PETA banter that just sounds like that old schoolyard poke in the ribs when you could think of nothing more intelligent at the moment. Or, just maybe, she has a thing for Joe Perry and the long phallic-looking weapons. Regardless it’s the same banter we often hear from PETA especially because they cannot seem to understand that the spotlight doesn’t always shine on them. Thats too bad for you little PETA. Joe Perry has been in the spotlight rocking out for years and now we find the he’s been hunting the backwoods when he has a chance. You Go Joe and we appreciate your recent interview and voice towards hunting.
We’re just pondering the fact whether Joe should fire a comment back to PETA or would it be too easy to fall into that trap? Either way we’re sure he’s laughing.

Me first I guess. I think it’s just another baited trap for Joe to start arguing with these idiots back and forth and they will get all the attention. My opimion is dont give them the opportunity.

I think Joe should fire back. I am the person who has a hard time letting things go without them eating at me. If everyone just turns the other cheek then PETA and other jerks like that can say whatever they want without any challenge. That is NOT right!

Joe should shred her ears with a face melting riff cranked to 11. Honestly I didnt even know he was a hunter. He went from cool to cooler.

I didn’t know Joe Perry was a hunter at all. I doubt he has much time to get out in the woods. He should just ignore the peta crap.

Ted Nugent and Joe Perry together hunting would be cool but mostly for Ted. Just another soapbox for ted to climb on and rant. Joe has chosen the right road of response and that would be nothing.

Joe Perry doesnt strike me as the type of person who gets excited too quickly anf flies off the handle with a response that isnt thought out. I wonder how well he deals with buck fever or, or in this case lets just call it deer fever.

Probably more of a jealous thing. She slaves away trying to get people to give up hunting and meat eating. Joe spends the evening jamming or eating meat. Come to think of it I’m jealous too.
