We moved forward with renewed interest and found that just beyond our field of vision was a raised portion of forest that
offered an area nearly 150 feet long and 50 feet wide of dry solitude. Coincidentally this is where we found the doe
expired from the shot that was not as poorly placed as first believed. I later surmised that once the doe made her initial
retreat she most likely chose a deliberate route to this area that we now refer to as Deer Island, a subject I will write
about in future articles.
